Here is a Sega Dreamcast SYSTEM-DISC 2. These discs are sometimes referred to as "boot-discs" but they should not be mistaken for the boot-discs which were used to boot illegal Dreamcast backup discs.
These discs were used to enable a retail Sega Dreamcast unit to read Sega Dreamcast GD-R media encoded in the same region as the unit. The disc is given the number two because there was a System Disc released for the Sega Saturn. They were mostly handed out to Sega Dreamcast developers (first and third-party), as well as reviewers.
Here is the a screenshot taken when this disc is inserted into a retail Dreamcast unit.
When the individual/company sees this screen, they should insert the Dreamcast GD-ROM game.
Once they do, the Sega Dreamcast reboots and loads the game content.
